This four-week league is designed for players who have completed Mahjong 101 and Mahjong 102 but still don't quite feel ready for a traditional league.
Maybe you've only played a few games. Maybe you still second-guess your discards. Maybe you know the rules but need more real table time before playing independently.
This is exactly where you belong.
Each week, you'll play full games in a small, supportive group while we provide heavy guided play throughout the evening. We'll answer questions as they come up, explain strategy in real time, help you work through tricky decisions, and reinforce the fundamentals as you play.
By the end of four weeks, you'll have the confidence and experience to comfortably join one of our regular leagues.
You've completed Mahjong 101 and Mahjong 102
You already know the basics of American Mahjong
You've only played a handful of games and want more practice
You're looking for guidance while playing—not another lesson
Participants should already understand the basics of gameplay, including reading the NMJL card, the Charleston, exposures, calling, and the general flow of a game. If you're brand new to Mahjong, we recommend starting with Mahjong 101 first.
Think of this as the bridge between learning Mahjong and feeling confident enough to walk into any game.
