Winter Retreat FAQs

 

What is included in the Winter Retreat pricing?

The retreat package includes:

• A two-night stay at Petite Acres in the accommodation category selected at registration

• Friday welcome dinner and Happy Hour Drinks, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and Sunday breakfast

• Yoga and/or movement class(es)

• Mahjong programming, open play, guided play, tournaments, and/or other Mahjong activities

• Mahjong playing equipment, including tiles, mats, and racks

What is Not Included in the Winter Retreat pricing?

The Pricing fee does not include:

• Transportation to or from New Buffalo, Michigan, or transportation for personal outings

• Additional meals, snacks, or beverages not specifically identified as included. Additional sign-up activities such as massage(s), spa treatments or anything not listed as included

• Alcoholic beverages, personal purchases, gratuities, or incidentals

• Travel insurance or medical expenses

• A National Mah Jongg League card. Attendees should bring their own 2026 card

Do I need to know how to play Mahjong to come to the Retreat?

This retreat will not include beginner Mahjong Lessons. To provide the best experience for all guests, we ask that attendees are comfortable playing Mahjong prior to coming. If you are new to Mahjong, we recommend taking The Social Tiles Mahjong 101 and 102 classes prior to the retreat.

What is your Cancelation Policy?

We understand that things change. In order to provide the best experience for all of our guests, we are enforcing the following cancelation policy.

  • On or before October 21, 2026: (100 or more days before the Event) - Refund of amounts paid, less a $150 administrative fee and any non-refundable payment-processing charges.

  • October 22-November 30, 2026 (60-99 days before the Event) - Refund of 50% of the total Event fee paid.

  • December 1-December 30, 2026 (30-59 days before the Event) - Refund of 25% of the total Event fee paid.

  • December 31, 2026-January 29, 2027 (fewer than 30 days before the Event) No refund or credit.

Retreat pricing is based in part on the occupancy level selected at registration. In the event a member of your group cancels and no replacement is found, attendees will be responsible for the difference between the original package price and the applicable price for the revised occupancy.

For example, if you purchase “Quad occupancy” pricing but change to “Triple occupancy”, you will be charged the price difference in event pricing.
