You've completed Mahjong 101 and 102, but you’d love more practice before joining a traditional league. Maybe you’ve only played a handful of games, still second-guess your discards, or need a little help deciding which hand to pursue.
This three-week league bridges the gap between learning Mahjong and feeling comfortable playing independently.
Think of it as Mahj 103 meets guided open play, with the consistency and community of a weekly league. Each session centers on playing full games, with an instructor available throughout to answer questions, talk through strategy, help with tricky decisions, and reinforce the fundamentals.
You’ll learn as you play, get more games under your belt, and build confidence in a supportive setting.
Players who have completed Mahjong 101 and 102 and want:
More practice with instructor support
Help choosing hands, making discards, and understanding strategy
A comfortable place to ask questions and meet fellow newer players
Some experience is required. You should have a basic understanding of the NMJL card, the Charleston, calling tiles, exposures, and the flow of a game. You don’t need to have it all mastered; that’s what we’re here to help with! If you’re brand new, please start with Mahjong 101.
Wednesdays: October 28, November 4 & November 11
Arrival & settling in: 6:00–6:30 PM
Guided gameplay: 6:30–8:30 PM
Location: Macushla Brewing Co.
Price: $115 for all three sessions or $45 per drop-in
