You've learned the game. Let's make it click.
You've taken Mahjong 101 and 102, learned the rules, and know your way around the card. Now it's time to put it all together at the table.
Our Beginner Series is designed for players who understand the basics of American Mahjong but still want a little extra help while playing. Maybe you've only played a handful of games. Maybe you still second-guess your discards or aren't sure what to do next. Or maybe you just want more practice with someone there to guide you along the way.
This is where it all starts to come together.
Each week, you'll play full games in a small, supportive group with hands-on assistance and guided play throughout the evening. We'll answer questions as they come up, help you think through decisions, explain strategy in real time, and reinforce what you've learned as you play.
The goal? More practice, more confidence, and a better understanding of how everything works together during a real game.
You've completed Mahjong 101 and Mahjong 102
You understand the basics but want more hands-on help during play
You've played a few games but aren't quite comfortable playing independently
You want to build confidence before joining a regular league
Participants should already understand the fundamentals of American Mahjong, including reading the NMJL card, the Charleston, exposures, calling, and the general flow of a game. If you're brand new to Mahjong, we recommend starting with Mahjong 101 first.
Think of this as your opportunity to practice, ask questions, and build confidence, with a little help whenever you need it.
Dates:
Monday, November 30th
Monday, December 7th
Monday, December 14th
Each session is $36, or $100 for all three
