We started The Social Tiles because we wanted a weekly ritual that felt like ours.

Time with friends. A reason to get out. A way to challenge our brains while somehow giving them a break. Because if you play mahjong, you get it. The game asks you to focus so completely that, for a few hours, all the other tabs in your brain finally quiet down.

At the heart of it, we are three women who love mahjong and, selfishly, want more people to love it too.

We created The Social Tiles to make American Mahjong feel approachable, social, and a little more elevated. Through lessons, leagues, private events, and group experiences, we bring people together around the table for thoughtful play, real connection, and a standing date to use our brains for something fun.

We primarily serve Chicago and the North Shore suburbs, including Glenview and surrounding communities, and are available to travel to many Chicagoland suburbs.
